Eat Stop Eat Book Review – What is it and Does it Really Work?

Eat Stop Eat is a revolutionary new weight loss book by nutritionist, Brad Pilon. Brad’s program is different in many ways than most typical weight loss programs. Most popular diets and plans today focus on things like calorie shifting, counting every calorie, carb, and speck of fat that you put in your mouth. Many are complicated and difficult to follow or involve eating things you hate, or cooking elaborate meals and eating 5 or 6 times a day. Eat Stop Eat is none of that.

The diet is basically a system of intermittent flexible fasting and strength training. There are no complicated meals or calorie counting, and you can choose your fasting day based on your own schedule.

Most people think that fasting is counter-productive to weight loss because of the detrimental effect on the body’s metabolic rate. This is completely true – for long term fasting. Brad’s program involves short term fasting (just one day a week) which is actually proven to have a positive effect on weight loss. Short periods of fasting do not trigger the metabolism to slow down at all, and in fact, are very beneficial in fat loss when combined with exercise. During the fasting period you are encouraged to drink lots of water, low calorie drinks and black coffee.

The other important aspect of Eat Stop Eat is the strength training aspect. It is important that you follow the program properly and that includes the exercise portion. Simply fasting once a week without the exercise will not do much for you.

As long as you follow the diet plan properly, which is very simple to do, you WILL lose weight. Brad Pilon has researched this system extensively and has made it very easy to understand and follow.
