The Village at Meridian has long been a hub of shopping and commerce in one of the Treasure Valley’s fastest-growing cities. The shopping center is on the road to also becoming the center of half a dozen apartment complexes.
City filings show that thousands of apartments are planned near and on Village property, adding to complexes already built.
Local developer Brighton Development Inc. and Southern California company CenterCal LLC plan to build apartments next to the village.
Brighton’s Records Apartments would be across Records Way from the Village and would include 472 apartments, according to a city filing.
CenterCal’s apartments would have apartments atop ground-level retail. CenterCal’s The Bridge @ the Village at Meridian would have 503 apartments.
Across Julius M. Kleiner Park, Meridian Investments LLC, a Utah company, applied to build 336 apartments at 2600 Records Way, called Village Apartments. The complex would have 336 apartments.
Two apartment complexes are already neighbors of the Village. One, Bri at The Village, is a 55+ community located near the Boise Co-op and Kleiner park. The other, The Regency at River Valley, is near Bri at the northeast corner of Records Avenue and east River Valley Street. On its website, The Regency is described as offering “luxury” and “comfort.”
Verraso Village town houses are north of the Village at 2885 N. Records Ave. The Verraso town houses have two, three, and four-bedroom homes, its website said.
The Centerpoint town houses are located behind Dick’s Sporting Goods, near Eagle and Ustick. The new Centerpoint apartments and commercial development would extend the existing project across Ustick Road to the southwest corner. The Centerpoint project would have 9,600 square feet of commercial space.
“This area has been planned for higher-density development for quite some time, and the Village at Meridian approvals did contemplate residential as part of the overall master plan,” said Bill Parsons, planning supervisor for the city of Meridian, in an email.
What is the plan for all these apartments?
- The Records Apartments would be in two five-story buildings on 10 acres on the northeast corner of Records Way and Fairview Avenue. They would have 84 studios, 208 one-bedrooms, 168 two-bedrooms and 12 three-bedrooms.
- The Bridge @ The Village at Meridian would be on 6.53 acres. Parsons said the project could include 32,735 square fee. of commercial space and 608,206 square feet of residential.
- The Village Apartments would be a complex of six buildings made up of 200 one-bedrooms, 120 two-bedrooms and 16 three-bedrooms.

The Centerpointe project would have a mix of studios, one-bedrooms and two bedrooms. The complex would have five buildings, each three or four stories high.
